Oshun is the goddess of love, marriage, fertility and gold in the Yoruba religion.

She is the goddess of the river waters and is considered to be the Aphrodite of Cuba and Africa.

Also known as Our Lady of Caridad Del Cobre, is regarded as patroness of Cuba by her many devotees, who celebrate her feast day on September 8.

Because of her connection with marriage and motherhood, she is invoked during problems in childbirth and is said to rule the abdominal area.

Colors are yellow and gold, number is 5, day of the week is Saturday.

Oshun is the most beautiful of the female Orishas, she's lively, sparkling, vivacious, refreshing..

No one can resist her seductive laugh, her graceful dancing, and her lips that taste like honey.

Oshun assists in issues related to romance, marriage, and motherhood.

Inspires sexual love and promotes fertility.

Attract love, marriages & gold, increase beauty, protects from all harm.

Goddess of Love, Beauty and Marriage.

Her origin is Africa.

Oshun is an reigns over love, intimacy, beauty, wealth and diplomacy.

She is beneficent, generous, very kind, but has a horrific temper.

When she loses her temper, it causes untold destruction.

Yemaya, the great mother who lives and rulest over the seas.

Water is essential to life, so without Yemaya, life on earth would not be possible.

Although she is maternal and nurturing she is also fierce.

Yemeya is clever and brave, when she goes to war on behalf of her children, she wields a machete with expertise and no one can defeat her.

Her eleke (spiritual necklace) is made out of transparent crystal beads alternating with royal blue ones, in a pattern of 7, which is number.

Saturday is her day of the week and colors are blue and white.

Traditionally she wears a long flowing dress, cinched by a wide belt, with a full skirt made of blue and white ruffles, which represent the waves in the ocean.

As a mother, she is wise and virtuous, but she likes to have a good time and enjoys dancing.

When she dances, beings slowly and gracefully but as she swirls and moves her skirts to reflect the rhythm of the waves, she builds of speed and intensity, showing immense power.

Yemaya is the life-giving portion of the ocean. This is the area of water near the coasts and around coral reefs and such (most of the open and deep-water ocean is mostly barren and that belongs to a male Orisha, Olokun).

In many stories, Yemaya gave birth to everything. Her name has multiple spellings (Yemoja, Yemonja, Yemanya, Iemonja, etc.).
